To boldly go ...

Well, I've survived three days in my new job. They seem a nice bunch and it's a nice atmosphere. There is sooooo much to learn, I feel stupid and useless. It's hard going from a position where you know nearly everything, you are familiar with your product, your clients and your colleagues; to venture into new surroundings where you know nearly nothing, you don't know your product and you have trouble remembering the name of the person next to you.

But, I'll hang on to my steep learning curve and hope that I'm up to all the challenges that face me.

On the wedding front, it feels like the final count-down to launch day. It doesn't seem real at the moment in a bizarre kind of way. As we are marrying some miles away from where we live, I only have a small box of wedding nick-nacks. Most of the stuff is at my parents house. We open up my jewellery box and look at the rings occassionally or I'll sniff the perfume I have chosen ... I'm sure it will all become real when we meet my matron at the airport next week.

Time's winged chariot

Only three weeks to go until the big day and I'm holding onto the coat-tails of my sanity with a loosening grip. Frankly, I can't be bothered about whether those shoes go with that outfit, or whether people will appreciate my chosen theme ... or even whether anyone turns up (!!) - I just want to put my posh frock on and get married already.  :o)

Looking on the bright side, weddings can certainly improve a girl's CV .... Project Manager, Logistics Co-ordinator, Mediator, Time Manager, Negotiator, Accountant, PR Guru, Events Manager and bloomin Saint!

I think my mental health is not being helped by (a) looming deadline of final course assignments (before the wedding!) and (b) first day of my new job next week. I must be mad but at least my life is anything but boring.

Happy Journeys.

Hello World

This is my first post. If I can pull my finger out and get my life in order, it won't be my last.

As my blurb says, I've just turned 30 and will soon be married. I've been keeping a hard-copy diary throughout the wedding arrangements so I may put some of the more interesting or bizarre moments into a future post.

The road I'm following is by turns fascinating, scary, funny, difficult, emotional and awesome. Maybe I can entertain you along the way?
